Who is behind Sassy, Crassy & Creative?

Carol is the founder and President of Sassy, Crassy & Creative and has been dabbling in all sorts of artistic/creative design hobbies for most of her life. She was inspired by both her late maternal grandma and her late mom, each of whom modeled creativity that would lead to ways for pursuing this outlet. It wasn't until early 2021 when she acquired her first Cricut machine that things began to change. Instead of hand-painting signs for unique gifts and decor, she was able to use her new "toy" to cut out the designs and then the game changed - the creative world expanded and exploded!

Working in education as a middle school teacher for the past 20 years (now recently retired), Carol sharpened her sense of humor and appreciation of sarcastic wit that came along with spending days with eighth graders and her like-minded teacher friends. Additionally, when working with adolescents, there was the need for a well-developed filter to keep internal comments from rushing out. Most of what was captured in the filter has inspired areas of her work. 

Carol's friends were the first recipients of her items as gifts and the biggest cheerleaders, along with her husband, Ted, for continuing her venture into this business. She enjoys being creative and making people laugh as a result of her ridiculousness and lighthearted nonsense. Shenanigans is a word that is often connected to her.

Carol says the best part of Sassy, Crassy & Creative is that it's never mundane because the projects are so varied. "Sometimes I pick up furniture from the side of the road (or from Craigslist/FB marketplace) to repurpose. Other times I saw, sand, and paint old boards for signs and giggle while I work. I also test out new techniques or tools that I've acquired for a particular idea that I'm going to try out. I'm constantly thinking about and developing special products to sell. Additionally, I'm fortunate to be surrounded by the work of incredibly talented artisan crafters. The shoppe wouldn't be what it is without all of these wonderful people. My days making my own creations and being at the shoppe are always interesting and listening to music while I work makes the time enjoyable and move by quickly."
